Hemorrhoids (also known as “piles”) are dilated or bulging veins of the rectum and anus, caused by increased pressure in the rectal veins. Hemorrhoids may cause symptoms that are: bleeding, pain, prolapses, itching, spoilage of feces, and psychological discomfort. There are many methods for the treatment of hemorrhoids like, medical therapy, cryotherapy, rubber band ligation, sclerotherapy, laser, and surgery. Hemorrhoids are enlarged blood vessel nodules in the lower part of the rectum.

Congenital weakness of venous walls (weak connective tissue which may be the result of malnutrition), outflow disturbances from blood vessels of the small pelvis, and a sedentary lifestyle stimulate constipations which, in turn, create conditions for hemorrhoid development and progression, as bowel movement requires a lot of effort and strain.

Diode laser energy delivered into small to median hemorrhoidal piles caused little pain and led to a partial to complete resolution within a short time compared to an open hemorrhoidectomy.

Optimal Wavelength 1470nm

1470nm wavelength is preferentially absorbed by water 40 times more than 980nm wavelength.

It is superb for incision and excision of soft tissue in critical areas. The peak of water absorption at 1470nm enables precise cutting with good coagulation of soft tissue. As a result of this unique tissue absorption, procedures can be completed at lower energy dosages leading to less thermal trauma and better healing
